Design thinking. Engineering discipline.

Good digital products need both. Design decides what a product should be and how it should feel. Engineering makes it real, fast and dependable. At Mirana Labs they work as one team from the first conversation, so what’s designed is what gets built, and what’s built keeps working.

01Why both

Two disciplines. One product.

Most digital products don’t fail because of one bad decision. They fail in the gap between the people who design them and the people who build them.

We close that gap by putting strategy, design and engineering on the same team from day one. Designers understand the constraints of the stack; engineers understand the intent behind the interface. Trade-offs are made early, in the open, with the whole product in view.

Design thinking and engineering discipline overlap to form the product Two overlapping circles. The left holds a design grid and layout modules, the right holds a network of engineering nodes. The product sits where they overlap. Design thinking Engineering discipline The product
  • Design without engineering

Interfaces that look finished in a prototype, then struggle with real data, real devices and real deadlines.

  • Engineering without design

Systems that work exactly as specified and still confuse the people who have to use them every day.

  • Both, from day one

Decisions made with the whole product in view: feasible to build, clear to use and straightforward to maintain.

02Principles

How we approach the work.

Five commitments that shape every project, whatever its size or stack.

Craft

Details are where products earn trust. We care about spacing, states, performance and edge cases, because users notice when they’re missing.

Reliability

Code other engineers can read, test and extend. Predictable releases and documented decisions, no heroics required to keep things running.

Collaboration

You work directly with the people doing the work. Short feedback loops, shared tools and decisions made where you can see them.

Technology choice

We choose technology because it fits the product, the team and the budget, not because it’s the only tool we know.

Long-term partnership

Launch is the start, not the finish. We plan for maintenance, iteration and growth from the first conversation.

03How we work

Clear process. No black boxes.

How a project runs day to day, whether it lasts weeks or years, and what you can expect from us throughout.

Communication
One point of contact, regular check-ins and a shared channel. You always know what’s in progress, what’s next and what we need from you.
Transparency
Work in progress stays visible, staging links, shared boards and plain-language updates on scope, risk and timing, including when something changes.
Documentation
Architecture, decisions and handover notes are written down, so the product never depends on one person’s memory.
Quality
Code review, testing and accessibility checks are part of the build, not a scramble in the week before launch.
Ownership
You own what you pay for. Source code, design files and accounts are yours, documented and handed over, with no lock-in.

04What we do

The whole lifecycle, one team.

From the first workshop to the hundredth release, the same people carry the product forward.

05Who you’ll work with

The people doing the work.

You work directly with the specialists building your product, not an account layer passing messages between separate vendors.

  • Strategy

Frames the problem, the audience and the goals, and keeps every later decision tied to them.

  • Design

Turns strategy into flows, interfaces, brand and design systems that are ready to be built.

  • Engineering

Builds the product on the right stack and makes it fast, secure, testable and easy to extend.

  • Operations

Hosts, deploys, monitors and maintains it once it’s live, and keeps improving it.
